Nice to meet you

TECwomen is a community interest company founded by Caitlin Gould. Already running the successful TECgirls project, Caitlin kept meeting women who felt alone and unsupported in their careers. Some were looking for training and a chance to grow their skills and their network. Some just wanted to have a drink with other women who knew what it was like to work in very male-dominated sectors.  From this need and with a lot of support from a number of women across Cornwall, TECwomen was formed.

The first year was such a success, we decided to formalise it and incorporated as a community interest company.  TECwomen CIC now runs all of the TECgirls events and projects, while continuing to explore how we help women thrive (not just survive)  in digital and tech industries.

Our Values

Globally and locally women and girls are currently underrepresented in the workplace and in education in the areas of technology, engineering, and creative digital. Our projects seek to understand the problem on a local level and look at ways to intervene with both supportive and system-level solutions.

We believe in collaboration, adaptation, innovation and inspiration.

As an organisation we are pro-women and girls but not at the cost of boys and men. We see anyone who identifies as female, as female and we welcome all genders to collaborate. Everyone is welcome at our events. Inclusivity is critical to our orgnaisation and we always welcome suggestions on how we can improve.
